Which MATURITA are you going to take?

Depending on your interests and specialization, you will have to choose between the State Maturita or the School Maturita.

STATE MATURITA is a complex exam at an intermediate level B1 according to CEFR, which consists of three individual compulsory parts:

a) Listening and Reading

b) Written test

c) Oral exam

School Maturita is an oral exam aimed to prove students' English langauge competence at a B2+ level as stated by the CEFR. This English language final exam specifically focuses on British and American literature, history and the issues studying human behaviour, communication and society. Since 2015 there has been a legal amendment to the educational law which allows the students to replace the School Maturita with an international certificate proving their language competence at a C1 level (i.e. CAE - mark C, IELTS -6.5 points, TOEFL iBT - 110 points, TOIC - 880 points). The deadline for submitting an officially approved copy of a valid C1 certificate is at the end of March and applicants should be aware that obtaining results from a testing centre can take 9 weeks.  The details can be checked at www.cambridgeenglish.org/exams/
