There is space not only for parliamentary Delegates, but also for Organisers, Journalists and Assistants.  Make sure you apply before the deadline 5th January!  You can apply via the link below: 

EEYP Pitesti 2017

The Erasmian European Youth Parliament is a project for enthusiasts who are interested in debating about politics, economy and current issues concerning Europe. The next Erasminan project will take place in Pitesti in Romania from 28th October-4th November 2017 and will host students from 10 European countries, including English native speakers. You can read about our other EEYP projects on our pages. The admission process for the Czech delegation from Zatlanka to Pitesti has just started and the deadline for submitting the application is 22nd September 2017, so if you are interested, do mind the application deadline!

The delegates of Zatlanka European Youth Parliament are meeting with university students this week at 'Meet the Boss' events to discuss their resolutions, which they are going to defend and attack at the General Assembly, taking place on Monday 12th June at 10:45 at the European  House, Jungmanova 745/24. Should you be interested in attending the event, contact your English teacher and ask to have a seat reserved no later than by Friday 9th June!

EEYP Girona 2017

February 28, 2017

This week a delegation from our school came back from the Erasmian European Youth Parliament (EEYP), which took place in a Catalonian city of Girona in Spain from 22nd to 27th February. Our students successfully represented our school in the committee work, debates and the General Assembly, where they defended their resolutions on the topic called 'From Local to Global.' The students brought back invaluable experiences and knowledge, which they will be able to utalize in the Zatlanka Youth Parliament (ZEYP) starting this month.

Our school, Gymnazium Na Zatlance, is proud to announce a significant achievement in the international competition Best in Englih. We took the second place in the Czech Republic and the sixth place internationally. Congratulations and thanks to all our participants!

EEYP Hamburg 2016

November 21, 2016

On 17-22 November our students represented Gymnazium Zatlanka at the Erasmian European Youth Parliament 2016 in Hamburg. Student delegates from 11 European cities met for 6 days to debate current European and world issues in seven different committees, which they then presented and defended in the General Assembly, taking place at the Town Hall in Hamburg. The topic for this event was ' Europe : Safe Haven.' Our students worked hard and came back with unforgettable experience and new motivation to organise a new similar event of the Zatlanka European Youth Parliament in our school.

Discussion: The Role of Hispanic Voters in Presidential Elections

The American Centre in Prague is organizing a series of panel discussions in English on various  current issues. On Tuesday 18th October the discussion  will be lead by three panelists, Dr. Ricardo Ramírez, Professor of Political Science at the University of Notre Dame, Dr. KateÅ™ina BÅ™ezinová, Chair of the Ibero-American Centre Studies at Metropolitní University in Prague, and José M. de Areilza Carvajal from Aspen Institute España. The main speakers will address the role of Hispanic voters in the up-comming US presidential elections.

Writing a Final Paper (or Final Thesis) in English will not only look good on your C.V., but first and foremost, it will help you become an experienced writer in an academic style, who can use the MLA format needed in academia around the world. If you are in the fourth year and you have decided to write your Final Paper in English, it's high time you started narrowing down your topic and doing research. If you are in the third year, you can start thinking about the topics you would like to explore. There is a scheduled meeting for all the students who have applied for writing their Final Papers in English. It is on Thursday 8th September, room 252.

Welcome Back to School!

We hope you all had a wonderful holiday and you are now full of energy and enthusiasm to start a new school year. We, the English teachers, will do our best to help you work hard, face new challenges, take risks, overcome obstacles,

learn a lot of new stuff, create and cooperate but also have fun, enjoy the lessons and laugh. We have some new events and projects in store for you, such as this new website, so enjoy them all. We wish you good luck with everything!!!
